Frequently Asked Questions
Have a project you’re interested in discussing with us? Drop us a line below, we’d love to talk.
Are you traditional corporate consultants?
A typical corporate consultant will work for a Fortune 500 company or other medium or large sized business. Possibly a lawyer, accountant or MBA, these consultants have the specialized skillsets their target market requires.
We are not those guys (and odds are, you don’t need those guys.)
We are small business consultants; the clients we serve are smaller in size and require less specialized services, not to mention less expensive suits! Our offerings are most applicable to businesses in the $10M and under segment, with some leeway, of course!
Though we cater to the small business segment, we do have a partner network that allows us to offer certain specialized services. More information on our partner network is available on the About page.
How much do your services cost?
We offer a number of a la carte services; for these, pricing is listed with the service.
For writing, consulting and technical services, we provide costing information after evaluating your requirements. Our rates range from CAD $50.00 to $150.00 per hour, depending on the service, location, timeline, duration and other factors.
Our standard consulting rate is $80.00 per hour. We bill all expenses at a rate of cost plus ten percent (this includes project equipment, flights, meals, accommodations, etc.)
Pricing for our partner consulting is between $150.00 and $250.00 per hour, with junior partners costing significantly less ($50.00 per hour.)
Do you provide discounted rates to non-profits?
Yes, in addition to Educational Institutions and First Nations. If you’re a non-profit and would like a reduced rate, please ask.
What are your payment terms?
It depends who you are. If you are a brand new client, we ask for either a retainer, or a 50% deposit prior to work commencement, with the remainder due upon completion of the work. For established clients, we offer standard 30 day terms.
Do you use a consulting agreement?
When we engage in consultative services we like to use a simple consultancy agreement. It outlines the terms and conditions under which we will provide services, along with information like project deliverables, deadlines, payment terms and the like.
We use this agreement upstream and downstream; we sign it as the client, and we sign it as the consultant. It’s lightweight, easy on both parties and often more than adequate for our purposes. We will, of course, evaluate alternative agreements, should you have a preference.
Do you work with Government?
All of our people have experience working with all levels of government, in particular, in the telecom and I.T. sector. Wildwood staff have responded to successful multimillion dollar Government RFPs. We’ve worked with Government on the implementation of complex telecom infrastructure projects. We’ve liaised on compliance, developed joint press releases, project plans, and in general, worked hand in glove with various Government clients to implement succesful projects. In fact, one of the projects we worked on was called “the most important infrastructure project in the history of Nunavut!” We might not go that far, but it was pretty impressive stuff.
In summary, we are familiar with the unique requirements, capabilities and constraints of the public sector and are happy to offer our services to Government of all levels.
Diligence is the mother of good luck.
